v0.5 ships custom rules — the feature that turns SC Sentinel from a generic OWASP reference into a reflection of your team's actual security standards.
Defining a custom rule
Custom rules are created and edited directly in the dashboard — no files to upload. Each rule has:
- A title and description
- One or more keywords or terms it matches against
- A severity level (
advisory,warning,blocking) that determines how the rule is surfaced
Rules take effect on your licensed endpoint as soon as you save them.
Built-in rules stay on
Licensed endpoints serve the built-in OWASP-derived rules and your custom rules together. The built-in set is always active — your custom rules add to it rather than replacing it.
Custom rules are available on Pro and Enterprise plans.
